WHAT'S INSIDE YOUR LANGLY?
F100 + 40mm 2.0 pancake lens for minimalist travel, Nikon D800, 85mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4, 24-70mm 2.8, 100mm 2.8
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO EXPLORE?
To learn, to saturate my senses, to find my (often self-imposed) limits and push beyond them, to broaden perspective, connect, understand, and sometimes to disengage and recharge.
WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION?
Big trees, early mornings, the natural world, books and poems, music, art, dreams, unfamiliar cities, human nature, the weather
FILM VS DIGITAL?
The ratio of film to food in my refrigerator is 1:1.
WHAT'S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PHOTO?
I camped a night at the summit of Mt. Nyiragongo, an active volcano in eastern Congo, and set up a long exposure with a roll of Portra 800 while my team was standing at the edge of the crater. Their silhouettes against a red/orange sky and the sound of an actual lake of lava churning like an ocean below felt otherworldly.
